After Carl Creel took off with the Obelisk, Agent Lance Hunter is left stuck in the car with Hartley and Idaho, both dead. Even though May helps him to get out, he is captured by General Talbot's men. Meanwhile, Creel absorbs the properties of the Obelisk and accidentally kills a waitress in a bar. He later meets Raina, who offers to help him but Creel refuses. Talbot tries to turn Hunter into working for him and sets him free, but Hunter returns to S.H.I.E.L.D. wanting revenge for his fallen friends. Fitz and Mack are able to build a weapon that can take Creel down. While the team is observing Creel making some deals in public, Hunter disarms the other agents and tries to kill Creel himself. But Creel easily defeats him and just when he is about to kill Hunter, Coulson takes down Creel. Coulson later offers Hunter to join the team. He then tells Talbot that he's wasting his time tracking S.H.I.E.L.D. and gives him Creel. The Obelisk is later shown in the possession of Raina and a man who is asking her to find his daughter.
