It is the sequel to the 1987 game Maniac Mansion. The game's plot follows Bernard Bernoulli and his friends Hoagie and Laverne as they attempt to stop the evil Purple Tentacle—a sentient, disembodied tentacle—from taking over the world. 美式幽默的代表作。谜题看似无厘头，实则自有一套逻辑。洗车就会下雨，这是世界的真理。国内玩家由于文化背景原因对于很多笑点并不熟悉（例如Hoagie说要在他的表演中用上仓鼠是致敬金属天王Ozzy表演生啃蝙蝠头），不好推荐。
